At a meeting in Brussels on 22 March 2010, the European Commission presented a counterfeit version of ACTA to participants. As with any good counterfeit, it bore quite a strong relationship with the genuine article. However, the differences were quite obvious for those in the know.
For example, in this counterfeit version, there is no mention of ISP liability changes that would lead to measures such as the cutting off of consumers ("three strikes").

These "economies" were on display again during a discussion between the Commission Head of Unit responsible for the dossier, Luc Devigne and the International Trade Committee of the Parliament.

When the conquistadores arrived in the Americas, historians tell us that the viruses that they carried caused devastation among the indigenous populations. For the European invaders, who had been subject to the viruses for longer, the illnesses, while still sometimes deadly, were less dangerous than for populations that had not yet been exposed to them.
