This is a European open call for participation for civil society entities active in the field of privacy and data protection.
The prize is granted to initiatives undertaken by non-governmental organisations, trade unions, non-profit institutions or any other civil society actor for the benefit of the right to privacy and the protection of personal data - be it local, national or European initiatives.
Civil society entities from the 47 member States of the Council of Europe are invited to submit a short description of any inspiring actions, events, projects or campaigns launched in 2009.
Submissions of applications related to local initiatives are particularly encouraged.
